I saw Your face as You knelt before me
after Supper candle flames flickering smell of bread and wine lingering in the air. Your hands cradled my feet these filthy, weary feet— warm water poured over cleansing, purifying. But even more so, Your gaze burning through me. This love…
And now, beneath the cross I am at Your knees I see Your Mother cradling Your feet. Your nailed, weary feet— Your Blood poured over cleansing, purifying. Your Heart willing every drop for my salvation.
I need look nowhere else. Oh Jesus, contained within You and Your sweet cross right here, waiting for me: every grace I need to be made new to be sanctified to finally surrender to Your love. It is finished.
I see Your face. Let my heart be pierced so that I may receive.
“By virtue of that one single offering, he has achieved the eternal perfection of all whom He is sanctifying.” Hebrews 10:14
